Integrity Mentor Group Launched to Address Concerns of Grade 6 and Below Public Officials
Sejong City Strengthens Communication
Between Senior and Junior Public Officials
The city of Sejong held an appointment ceremony for its Integrity Mentor Group, designating six senior officials as integrity mentors.
The Integrity Mentor Group, introduced by the city's Audit Committee, was established to strengthen communication on integrity issues with public officials at grade 6 and below within the organization. Public officials at grade 6 and below who are experiencing difficulties in their work or organizational life can receive direct mentoring?either one-on-one or in group settings?from a senior official mentor in charge of their respective institution or department.
The six appointed senior officials are Jang Minju, Director of Policy Planning; Jeong Gyeongyong, Director of the Institute of Health and Environment; Lee Gyeongu, Head of Operations Support; Ahn Jongsu, Head of Autonomous Administration; Kim Byeongho, Head of Jochiwon-eup; and Lee Inhwan, Head of Areum-dong. The mentoring covers a variety of areas, including: advice on personnel issues such as job assignments; counseling on conflicts with supervisors or colleagues, workplace harassment, and inappropriate instructions unrelated to official duties; and guidance on audit and investigation reporting procedures.
Through the operation of the Integrity Mentor Group, the city aims to prevent the increasing trend of early-career public officials leaving public service and to enhance trust among employees by proactively managing favoritism and corruption within the organization.
