Daedong Hospital Receives Grade 1 in 1st Imaging Test Appropriateness Assessment
Daedong Hospital (Director Lee Gwangjae) announced that it has received the highest rating, Grade 1, in the '1st Imaging Test Appropriateness Assessment' conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
This assessment was implemented for the first time by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service to enhance patient safety against contrast agent side effects and radiation exposure, as well as to improve the quality of imaging tests, in response to the steady increase in the use of medical radiation for diagnosis and treatment.
The assessment targeted inpatients and outpatients who underwent CT, MRI, or PET scans over a three-month period from July to September 2023. It was based on a total of 14 indicators, including the rate of pre-examination patient assessment before contrast agent use, the rate of pre-examination patient assessment before MRI scans, the number of CT and MRI interpretations per radiology specialist, the rate of medical radiation safety management training, and the rate of retesting the same body part.
Daedong Hospital received high scores in pre-examination assessment items that prioritize patient safety, such as the rate of patient assessment before contrast agent use and the rate of patient assessment before MRI scans. The hospital was recognized for its excellence in safety and systematic clinical processes across all imaging tests.
