One Vietnamese Crew Member Dies, Three Hospitalized from Pufferfish Poisoning in Jindo
In Jindo, South Jeolla Province, one Vietnamese crew member died and three others were urgently hospitalized after suffering poisoning from eating pufferfish.
According to the police and other authorities on the 29th, at around 1:18 a.m. that day, four Vietnamese crew members aboard a vessel near Jodo-myeon, Jindo County, suddenly experienced vomiting and severe dizziness.
The rescue team that responded to the scene immediately transported the crew members to the hospital, but a man in his 40s, identified as A, ultimately died. The other three crew members are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment.

A police official stated, "It is presumed that the poisoning symptoms appeared after they consumed pufferfish they had prepared themselves the previous evening," adding, "We are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident."
