Restoration work, such as ground retaining walls, check dams, and slope protection, was completed last year. On this day, officials from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seocho District accompanied the inspection, reported on the status of preemptive landslide prevention measures in preparation for heavy rainfall, and jointly inspected the site.
Chairperson Choi emphasized, "To minimize various damages caused by heavy rainfall, it is most important to ensure thorough preventive measures," and added, "In particular, since Umyeonsan also suffered major landslide damage in 2011, I urge you to respond in advance without any negligence."
Meanwhile, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has already completed preliminary inspections and on-site actions for 997 areas at risk of landslides. In addition, the city conducted joint special inspections with district offices at 18 major mountainous areas, including Gwanaksan and Umyeonsan, and completed preemptive measures such as removing accumulated waste wood and dredging sedimentation basins.
