The rescue lobbying allegations center on suspicions that Lee Jongho, a former CEO of Black Pearl Invest and a close associate of First Lady Kim Keonhee, attempted to exert influence through Kim by collaborating with members of the "Meotjin Haebyeong" group chat to prevent disciplinary action against former Commander Lim, who was the unit commander of Chae Sangbyeong. The special prosecutor's team had previously conducted searches and seizures at Lee's home and vehicle.
