Fifteen council members, including representatives from the Hwaseong branch of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hwaseong City Council, Gyeonggi Regional Employment and Labor Office, and Hwaseong City, attended the ceremony and expressed their shared commitment to sustainable regional development and the creation of a healthy labor environment.
The joint declaration pledges to make labor-management coexistence, industrial safety enhancement, and ESG management the core tasks of the local community, and promises that all parties will fulfill their shared responsibilities and roles to achieve these goals.
Specific action plans for implementing these core tasks were also proposed. To realize industrial peace and safety, the highest priority will be placed on the lives and safety of workers. Workers will strengthen their awareness of safety and health, companies will invest in and support the creation of safe working environments, and the government will promote the expansion of related policies, education, and campaigns.
All parties will jointly practice ESG management and strengthen cooperation to establish an employment culture without discrimination or gaps, reduce hazardous substances, develop eco-friendly management strategies, and achieve carbon neutrality.
To ensure the effective implementation of this joint declaration, the city plans to establish an 'Implementation Monitoring Team' within the council as a working-level body. This team will secure the declaration's effectiveness through a structured system of formulating detailed action plans, implementation, monitoring, and sharing.
