View original imageThe child welfare organization Green Umbrella announced on July 9 that Chairman Hwang Youngki participated in the "Youth Illegal Cyber Gambling Eradication Challenge" to help create a safer online environment.
The "Youth Illegal Cyber Gambling Eradication Challenge Campaign," in which Chairman Hwang participated, is a nationwide campaign organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency since March 2024. The campaign aims to raise public awareness about the issue of youth cyber gambling and to foster a safer online environment. It operates as a relay, where participants take a photo with a certification banner, share a message, and nominate the next participant to join the challenge.
Chairman Hwang Youngki stated, "I joined this challenge to emphasize the importance of online safety so that children and adolescents can be protected and grow up safely in the digital environment," and added, "Green Umbrella will continue its efforts to create a safe online environment for children in the future."
Chairman Hwang participated in the challenge after being nominated by Kim Yoonsik, chairman of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea. He then nominated Lee Hwanju, president of KB Kookmin Bank, Park Jongmoon, CEO of Samsung Securities, and Choi Changnam, chairman of Food for the Hungry, as the next participants.

Green Umbrella is also carrying out various online safety initiatives, such as the "The Most Dangerous Room in the World" campaign, which calls for greater public awareness and legal reforms to protect the rights of children and adolescents and ensure their safe growth in digital spaces.
