Each member works on a rotating basis from Monday to Thursday according to their area of expertise.
The Dongdaemun District Citizen Grievance Committee is operated in accordance with the "Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Citizen Grievance Committee (Ombudsman) of Dongdaemun District, Seoul." Through the investigation, coordination, and mediation of grievance petitions, the committee helps to alleviate conflicts between administrative agencies and residents and contributes to enhancing mutual trust.
Residents can consult with the ombudsman specializing in the relevant field regarding grievances arising from illegal, unjust, or passive actions by administrative agencies, as well as unreasonable systems. They can also request mediation and resolution of their complaints.
Lee Pilhyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, stated, "As grievance petitions are becoming increasingly diverse, I expect that the ombudsman system will help us find solutions. I hope the committee will continue to play a significant role in protecting residents' rights and interests and enhancing trust in administration with a fair and objective perspective."
