Sejong City Appoints 33 Safety Monitors...Pledges to Be Everyday Safety Guardians
Expanding Participation in Everyday Safety Practices
Promoting a Culture of Adhering to Safety Rules
Sejong City held the appointment ceremony for the 7th class of Safety Monitors at the Hangul Love Sejong Book Culture Center, reaffirming its commitment to building a safe city together with its citizens.
The 7th class of Safety Monitors consists of 33 citizens who participated in the public recruitment in April and completed preliminary training, including instructions on how to use the Safety Sinmungo and safety experience education.
Since 2018, these Safety Monitors have been operating as "everyday safety guardians" to enhance the safety level of the community by identifying and reporting local risk factors, supporting safety culture campaigns, and assisting with event safety management.
The newly appointed 7th class of Safety Monitors will work alongside existing monitors to promote the Safety Monitor system to citizens and foster a culture of participation in adhering to everyday safety rules.
Mayor Choi Minho stated, "Thanks to the Safety Monitors who always protect citizen safety in the field, our citizens can live with peace of mind," and added, "Because your dedication has led Sejong City to be recognized as the safest city in the country, I ask you to carry out your activities with a strong sense of duty."
