"Strengthening the Joint Venture with Korean Air"
Delta Air Lines, which maintains a close partnership with Korean Air, has reaffirmed its trust in Cho Won-tae, Chairman of Hanjin Group. Regarding the management dispute controversy that recently arose due to Hoban Group's acquisition of shares in Hanjin KAL, Delta dismissed the issue by stating that it views the move as a "simple investment."

Delta Air Lines holds a 14.9% stake in Hanjin KAL and has long been considered one of Chairman Cho's key allies.
Vice President Moffaw said, "We view Hoban Construction's recent increase in Hanjin KAL shares as a simple investment," and added, "I believe (making such investments) is a very natural act."
As of last month, Hoban Construction had secured an 18.46% stake in Hanjin KAL, the holding company of Hanjin Group, making it the second-largest shareholder. Although Hoban Construction stated that its share acquisition was for 'simple investment purposes,' the market has raised the possibility of a management dispute with Hanjin Group.
In response, Hanjin Group contributed Hanjin KAL treasury shares to its employee welfare fund, thereby increasing Chairman Cho's stake from 20.13% to 20.79%. The gap in shareholding between Hanjin Group and Hoban Group has widened to 2.3 percentage points.
