Man in His 50s Detained for Attacking Ex-Wife's Partner with a Weapon: "Flight Risk and Destruction of Evidence"
A man in his 50s has been arrested and detained on charges of attacking his ex-wife's partner with a weapon.
On the morning of May 21, Hwang Jung-yeon, the presiding judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Southern District Court, issued an arrest warrant for the man, known as Mr. A, who is in his 50s and is suspected of attempted murder, after conducting a pre-arrest interrogation. Judge Hwang cited "concerns about flight risk and destruction of evidence" as the reasons for the detention.

Mr. A was apprehended on May 19 for allegedly attacking his ex-wife's partner with a weapon at a park in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. According to the investigation, he committed the crime out of anger after seeing his ex-wife together with the man. The victim, who was stabbed in the genitals, chest, abdomen, and thigh, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. It has been reported that the victim's life is not in danger.
