City Office of Education to Hold Analysis Session on June 11
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced the preliminary scoring results for the June mock test of the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) on June 9, 2025.
The Gwangju Association of High School Academic Affairs Directors and the Career and College Counseling Analysis Team analyzed the preliminary scores of third-year high school students in the Gwangju region and predicted the minimum scores likely required to apply to major universities.
For Seoul National University, the expected minimum score for humanities is around 273 points, and for the natural sciences, around 271 points. Korea University and Yonsei University are projected to require approximately 270 points for humanities and about 263 points for natural sciences. Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) is estimated to require 263 points, Korea Institute of Energy Technology 268 points, and Gwangju National University of Education around 231 points.
For Chonnam National University humanities majors, the expected minimum scores are as follows: Department of Korean Language Education 241 points, Department of English Education 231 points, School of Business Administration 230 points, Department of Public Administration 226 points, Department of Political Science and Diplomacy 225 points, and Department of Korean Language and Literature 221 points. The overall average minimum score for humanities majors is predicted to be around 218 points. For natural sciences, the expected scores are: Pre-Medical 281 points, Pre-Dentistry 277 points, School of Pharmacy 274 points, Pre-Veterinary Medicine 273 points, Department of Electrical Engineering 250 points, Department of Nursing 238 points, and Department of Mathematics 211 points.
For Chosun University, the expected minimum scores are: Pre-Medical 279 points, Pre-Dentistry 275 points, School of Pharmacy 273 points, and Department of Nursing around 222 points.
An official from the city’s Office of Education stated, "These figures represent simple minimum scores based on raw scores and should be used for reference only," and added, "Once the official scores are released, students should develop more accurate application strategies based on the converted scores for each university."
Meanwhile, the city’s Office of Education will hold an explanatory session on the preliminary analysis of the June mock test at 7:00 p.m. on June 11 at the auditorium of the Gwangju Education Research and Information Institute. The explanatory session on the official scoring analysis will be held at the same location at 7:00 p.m. on July 9.
