It was confirmed on June 4 that the resignations of Lee Changsoo, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, and Cho Sangwon, the 4th Deputy Chief Prosecutor, have been accepted.
According to the legal community, the resignation letters of Chief Prosecutor Lee and Deputy Chief Prosecutor Cho were accepted the previous day, on June 3. Starting from this day, they will no longer report to work.
Initially, the future of Chief Prosecutor Lee was expected to be decided after the launch of the new administration. However, with the acceptance of the resignation on June 3, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office will now operate under an acting chief system.
Previously, Chief Prosecutor Lee and Deputy Chief Prosecutor Cho were impeached after they decided not to indict Kim Keonhee, the wife of former President Yoon Sukyeol, who was implicated in the alleged stock manipulation case involving Deutsche Motors. They returned to their duties on March 13.
