Immediate Expulsion for Unsafe Practices... Hyundai E&C Launches Surprise Safety Inspection Team
Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on May 19 that it has officially launched the 365 Safety Patrol Team, which is responsible for overseeing safety at worksites. The team held its inaugural ceremony at a reconstruction apartment construction site in Seoul recently and has begun its activities.
This team is a dedicated organization centered around site safety management experts. It conducts unannounced safety inspections at all sites without prior notice. The purpose is to proactively eliminate risk factors and prevent accidents at worksites. If unsafe behavior is identified during site inspections, the immediate expulsion policy is applied, and the worker is immediately removed from the site.
If unsafe working conditions are detected, the team exercises the right to stop work and implements corrective measures immediately. The company stated that it has established an on-site response system to encourage workers to strictly adhere to safety regulations on their own and plans to foster a culture of autonomous safety management led by partner companies. Key executives, including Hwang Junha, Hyundai Engineering & Construction's Chief Safety Officer (CSO), and site officials attended the inauguration ceremony.

In addition to operating the Safety Patrol Team, the company has established a safety system based on the latest technology and strengthened on-site safety leadership training. A company representative said, "We will continue proactive and ongoing site-focused activities so that members at worksites can independently identify and respond to risk factors, establishing a culture of autonomous safety."
