View original imageThe National Harmony Committee was established with the aim of supporting the socially disadvantaged and ensuring that no one is left behind, in order to achieve national unity.The committee is chaired by former lawmaker Park Yongjin, a prominent member of the anti-Lee Jaemyung faction within the party.
In a video congratulatory message on this day, presidential candidate Lee Jaemyung stated, "The Republic of Korea overcame the IMF crisis with President Kim Daejung, opened the path to overcoming regionalism and authoritarianism with President Roh Moo-hyun, and ushered in a new era of peace on the Korean Peninsula with President Moon Jaein."
