When standing on all fours, Reginald measures one meter tall. If he stands on his hind legs, he is as tall as an average adult. In contrast, Pearl stands only 9.14 centimeters tall. Guinness World Records explained, "The height difference between Reginald and Pearl is about 91 centimeters, which is remarkable," adding, "This difference is roughly the length of a baseball bat or an acoustic guitar."

When the owners seated the two dogs together on the sofa, Reginald lay down to match Pearl's eye level. Pearl reportedly ran excitedly across Reginald's large body.
The owners, Vanessa and Sam, realized while talking as the dogs played that the two dogs, who hold world records at opposite extremes, actually have much more in common than people might think. In particular, both dogs are known for their affectionate personalities, so the owners were not worried about the meeting despite the extreme size difference. Vanessa, Pearl's owner, added with a laugh, "Pearl is very friendly when she meets big dogs. She seems to have no idea that she's a small dog."

Meanwhile, Reginald is currently the largest living dog in the world, but he has not broken the record for the tallest dog of all time. The "tallest dog ever" was Zeus, a Great Dane, who reportedly stood 104 centimeters tall. However, Zeus passed away in September 2003 after developing bone cancer.
