Na Kyungwon: "Lee Jaemyung to Lose Candidacy Rights... Democratic Party Must Replace Candidate"
"Immediate Resignation of Lee Jaemyung Is the Bare Minimum"
"The Sentence to Be Finalized Will Result in Loss of Candidacy"
Na Kyungwon, a member of the People Power Party who was eliminated from the party's presidential primary, commented on the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the acquittal of former Democratic Party leader Lee Jaemyung in his Public Official Election Act case and remand it for retrial, stating, "The Democratic Party must immediately replace its unqualified criminal candidate."
On her Facebook account this afternoon, Na wrote, "I would like to express my deep appreciation to the Supreme Court for swiftly correcting the egregious error of the previous ruling," adding, "This decision has shown that the judiciary can be the final bastion for the people, giving us trust and hope."
She continued, "Now that it has been confirmed that a candidate like Lee Jaemyung, whose record is filled with lies, should not become president, we must win this election," emphasizing, "I urge the lower court to deliver its ruling as soon as possible."
Na pointed out, "According to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn and remand, the sentence that will be finalized for candidate Lee Jaemyung will result in the loss of his eligibility to run for office," adding, "Therefore, it is the minimum duty to the nation and the people for candidate Lee to resign immediately."
