Party for National Innovation: "Will File Election Law Violation Complaint if Han Ducksoo Runs"
The Party for National Innovation announced on May 1 that it would file a complaint against Acting President and Prime Minister Han Ducksoo for violating the Public Official Election Act if he runs for president.
The Party for National Innovation’s parliamentary group held a press conference at the National Assembly that afternoon, stating, "We will initiate legal proceedings for alleged violations of the Public Official Election Act as soon as Acting President Han declares his candidacy."
They argued that Prime Minister Han’s recent charitable acts at restaurants, as reported by the media, violate the current election law. They cited the provision that prohibits prospective candidates from making donations under the election law.
The parliamentary group criticized, "Han Ducksoo is even willing to abandon his position as Acting President for his own presidential bid. He has no regard for the nation or its people. This is sheer greed."

They further stated, "Although he is acting on behalf of an illegitimate regime, Han Ducksoo should first apologize to the public for his unconstitutional and illegal actions. That would be the proper dignity and duty expected from someone who has prided himself on 50 years of public service." They warned, "We will hold him accountable for the existing charges of dereliction of duty and for being an accomplice to the coup."
