In Uiseong County alone, approximately 2,800 pieces of agricultural machinery were destroyed by fire.
In response, Uiseong County is providing up to 70% of the purchase cost, with a maximum of 35 million won, for government-supported machinery types such as tractors, combines, and rice transplanters. For 28 types of machinery not covered by government support, the county will use its own budget to provide the same level of assistance.
Additionally, the Agricultural Machinery Rental Center has implemented a 100% rent reduction measure to alleviate the economic burden on affected farms. The rent waiver period runs until June 30, and farms can rent equipment free of charge upon submitting a damage verification document.
Currently, the county is deploying all 843 units across 48 types of agricultural machinery in its inventory. In particular, essential equipment for affected farms?such as tractors, sprayers, cultivators, power carriers, agricultural excavators, and riding mowers?are being prioritized as "special rental items."
Alongside these efforts, the county is flexibly adjusting rental equipment operating hours and providing on-site delivery services and technical support for equipment use, accelerating the establishment of a practical recovery system.
Kim Jusu, Mayor of Uiseong County, stated, "We have prepared a variety of support measures to provide practical help to farmers who have lost their livelihoods due to this wildfire," adding, "We will mobilize all administrative resources to ensure the swift recovery of farm management and normalization of agricultural operations."
Meanwhile, Uiseong County was able to reduce some damage through prompt action, such as urgently moving agricultural machinery to open areas during the wildfire. The county plans to further enhance its disaster response system and continue to implement field-oriented administration in the future.
