Samsung Asset Management to List KODEX US AI Software TOP10 ETF
Samsung Asset Management announced on April 21 that it will list the 'KODEX US AI Software TOP10 ETF', which focuses on investing in leading companies in the artificial intelligence (AI) software industry, on April 22.
Recently, the evolution of AI has been rapidly shifting from hardware to a software-centric focus. AI software such as ChatGPT and Copilot is quickly spreading across daily life and the workplace. Since the emergence of DeepSeek, the use of low-cost, high-efficiency AI software has become widespread. According to Statista Market Insights, the size of the US generative AI market is expected to reach approximately $62 billion in 2025 and about $356 billion by 2031.
The ETF invests in the top 10 companies in the AI software industry. In particular, it focuses more than 70% of its investments on commercialization leaders that have demonstrated growth through performance and revenue, with an emphasis on companies leading the commercialization trend. Around 20% is allocated to Palantir, a representative AI software company, with Microsoft, Salesforce, AppLovin, and Snowflake also included in the portfolio.
The ETF also includes high-potential companies at the forefront of the industry's value chain, such as MongoDB, Confluent, and Palo Alto Networks, creating a structure positioned to benefit from market growth. As AI applications become more widespread, demand for foundational technologies is also expected to rise.
Although US tech stocks have experienced temporary corrections due to recent US tariff issues, it is noteworthy that the software industry is relatively unaffected by tariffs. As Goldman Sachs has projected that "2025 will be the year of software growth," this ETF may be of interest to investors anticipating future global growth.
The ETF tracks the iSelect US AI Software TOP10 Index and allows investments of up to 70% in retirement pension (DC/IRP) accounts and up to 100% in personal pension accounts. The total annual fee is 0.45%.
Kim Chunheung, a manager at Samsung Asset Management, introduced the product by saying, "The KODEX US AI Software Top10 ETF not only invests about 70% in AI software commercialization leaders such as Palantir that are at the forefront of revenue generation, but also enables investment in the top 10 companies in the industry, including those with high growth potential."
He added, "This ETF is the product that best reflects the growth of the AI software industry, and we expect it will proactively capture the structural growth of the AI software sector moving forward."
