Ansan City Provides Foreign Language Support Service on Unmanned Civil Service Issuance Machines
Provided at 7 Locations with High Demand from Foreign Residents
Six Languages Supported Including Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese
On the 10th, Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has introduced foreign language support services to unmanned civil service issuance machines for the administrative convenience of foreign residents.
The city explained that the service was provided as the number of foreign residents living in the area exceeded 100,000 as of the end of last month and has been showing an increasing trend every year.

View original imageThe unmanned civil service issuance machines offering foreign language services are located at seven places: Sangnok-gu Office, Wolpi-dong Administrative Welfare Center, Sangnoksu Station Plaza in Sangnok-gu, and Ansan City Hall, Danwon-gu Office, Wongok-dong Administrative Welfare Center, and Korea University Hospital in Danwon-gu.
The machines installed at Sangnoksu Station Plaza and Korea University Hospital support four languages: Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, and Vietnamese, while the other five locations support five languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese.
With the introduction of this foreign language support service, seven types of documents can be issued: family relation certificate, basic certificate, marriage relation certificate, resident registration copy, resident registration abstract, land register, and building register. However, the issued documents will be printed in Korean. The city plans to analyze user responses and demand during machine operation to consider expanding foreign language support services.
