Seoul Tourism Foundation (CEO Gil Gi-yeon) is recruiting 10 candidates for on-site video narrators training for the visually impaired until the 18th of next month.
On-site video narration refers to professional narration that assists the visually impaired in their travel activities by providing route guidance and detailed descriptions of spaces and visuals, utilizing various sensory experiences such as auditory and tactile elements.

They operate nine tour programs including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Jongmyo Shrine, the Blue House, Seoul Museum of Craft Art, National Aviation Museum, and Namsan.
Thanks to the narrators' vivid explanations and the production of 15 types of tactile teaching aids such as tactile maps and roof models, 428 visually impaired participants took part last year, receiving positive responses.
Selected trainees will undergo over 30 hours of theoretical education covering basic knowledge of visual impairment, vocabulary, and practical expressions, as well as on-site training, after which they will be certified as on-site video narrators and begin their activities. As on-site video narrators, they will receive systematic professional training opportunities and support for dispatch costs (100,000 KRW per session).
Applicants must have knowledge and understanding of Seoul's history and culture, possess a healthy mindset, and be citizens aged 19 or older capable of providing long-duration walking narration as the "eyes of the visually impaired."
Detailed information about the recruitment can be found on the Seoul Tourism Foundation website and the Seoul Danurim Tourism website. For inquiries, contact the operations office at 02-393-4569.
