Fires Break Out in Yeonggwang and Gwangyang Homes... Two Injured
In the Jeonnam region, a series of residential fires have resulted in two people being injured and property damage.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Department and other sources, at around 7 p.m. the previous day, a fire broke out at a house in Yeonggwang-eup, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeonnam. A woman in her 20s, identified as A, who was at home at the time, suffered a minor burn on her forehead. The fire damaged 2 square meters of the house's interior and household goods, causing an estimated property loss of about 180,000 won, according to the fire department.
Investigations revealed that the fire started from a book that A had intentionally placed on the induction stove. The fire authorities believe that the fire was caused by A playing with fire and are currently investigating the exact circumstances.
At 3:06 p.m. on the 29th, another fire broke out at a house in Okgyeong-myeon, Gwangyang-si, Jeonnam, leaving a man in his 70s with burns all over his body. He was transported to the hospital. At the time of the fire, the man was inside the house, and the fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause once firefighting operations are completed.
