Acting Asan Mayor Jo Ilgyo Holds Meeting with Civil Complaint Officers
Shortage of Staff Due to Increasing Civil Complaints...
Considering the Introduction of AI
The city of Asan, South Chungcheong Province, announced on the 20th that Acting Mayor Jo Ilgyo held a meeting with civil service staff in charge of civil complaints at City Hall on the 19th.
This meeting was organized to listen to difficulties and discuss possible improvements.
The staff reported that despite the increasing number of civil complaints, the limited manpower is resulting in longer waiting times for citizens.
They especially emphasized that the special service counters set up for citizens with physical disabilities cannot be operated due to a lack of staff, and that it is becoming difficult to respond to the growing number of foreign civil applicants.
Acting Mayor Jo stated, "We will consider introducing and improving AI technologies such as chatbots across the board," and added, "We will pursue various institutional improvements to enhance satisfaction for both citizens and public officials."
