HD Hyundai Oilbank Launches Gasoline Engine Oil with Enhanced Engine Protection Function
First Domestic Launch in Line with Enhanced International Standards
Sixteen Types of 'Xteer G Series' Introduced
HD Hyundai Oilbank has launched a gasoline engine oil with enhanced engine protection features.
HD Hyundai Oilbank announced on the 18th that it will renew and release 16 types of gasoline vehicle engine oil under the name ‘Hyundai Xteer Gasoline G Series’.
These products comply with the latest global standards from the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC), which are scheduled to be announced at the end of this month. They are the first products to be released domestically in Korea that meet these standards, launching one year ahead of the expiration of the existing standards.
API and ILSAC are organizations that set international standards for automotive lubricants. Both organizations plan to announce the significantly strengthened standards ‘API SQ’ and ‘ILSAC GF-7’ at the end of March, which include criteria for piston cleanliness, prevention of abnormal fuel combustion, fuel efficiency improvement, and emission reduction. The standards previously applied since 2020, ‘API SP’ and ‘ILSAC GF-6,’ will expire in March 2026.
HD Hyundai Oilbank underwent about a year of development to meet the new standards. Friction modifiers were added to reduce friction inside the engine, protecting the engine and improving fuel efficiency. Additionally, a new engine seal protection system was introduced to prevent engine oil leaks.
