Gangjin County Provides Training for Senior Job and Social Activity Support Programs
"Safety First"
From Job Guidance to Everyday Safety
Gangjin County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Kang Jinwon) conducted training on June 14 for participants in the 2025 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Program.
According to the county on the 17th, about 100 seniors participating in the public service and community project groups received essential training to ensure healthy and safe job activities.
The purpose of this training was to help participants in the Senior Job and Social Activity Support Program perform their duties more efficiently in the field and prevent potential risks.
The training included lectures on chronic disease prevention (Public Health Center), traffic safety practice (Namdo Safety School), and job guidance (Senior Welfare Team). In particular, the lectures focused on helping seniors maintain healthy lifestyle habits. During the traffic safety practice session, participants learned safety rules and practical methods to apply in their daily lives to prevent traffic accidents.
Hwang Sungmin (Gangjin-eup, participant in traffic safety volunteer activities), a senior who attended the training, said, "It was very helpful in understanding what is required for job performance," adding, "I feel I will be able to work more safely."
Kim Eunsook, Director of Resident Happiness, emphasized, "The senior job program is an important policy that contributes to the economic stability and quality of life for seniors," and added, "We will do our best to support seniors so they can enjoy and find fulfillment in their work."
Meanwhile, the county is operating a senior job program this year with 2,270 seniors participating in 26 projects. A total budget of 8,619.7 million KRW has been allocated for this purpose. This is an increase of 64 participants compared to the previous year, and the county plans to continue expanding the program to provide more opportunities for seniors.
