Gwangju Community Chest of Korea Selects Seo-gu as 'Best District for Sharing Culture'

View original imageThe Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Park Cheolhong) announced on the 12th that it has selected Gwangju Seo-gu as the "Best District for Sharing Culture" and presented it with a plaque of commendation.
The event, held at the Seo-gu District Office that morning, was attended by Park Cheolhong, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, and related officials.
The "Best District for Sharing Culture" award is given to the autonomous district that has made the greatest contribution to spreading the culture of sharing through active donation activities for the promotion of community welfare during the Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign and the 2024 Year-round Fundraising period.
The Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign, with the slogan "Make Myself Valuable through Donation, Make Gwangju Valuable through Donation," was conducted from December last year to the end of January this year, aiming to raise 5.12 billion KRW. The campaign exceeded its goal by 825 million KRW, recording a Love Temperature of 116.1 degrees.
Last year's year-round fundraising campaign aimed to raise 10.9 billion KRW and achieved 11.8 billion KRW, reaching 108.3% of its target.
Seo-gu was selected as the best autonomous district in recognition of its leading role in spreading the culture of sharing in the Gwangju region and contributing to the creation of a happy community by actively participating in fundraising to promote community welfare and improve the quality of life during the Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign and the 2024 year-round fundraising period.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "I sincerely thank all the residents who extended a helping hand to neighbors in need," and added, "We will continue to seek various ways for donors, the community, and those in need to coexist and prosper together."
Chairman Park Cheolhong stated, "I sincerely thank the residents of Seo-gu and the staff of the Seo-gu District Office for actively participating in donations with their precious spirit of sharing."
