The final project sites will be selected separately through on-site inspections based on factors such as building condition, location and accessibility, and the ratio of self-investment. Selected landlords must provide free rental for four years to the following groups: low-income households (basic livelihood recipients, near-poverty groups, single-parent families), returning or new rural residents, local students (youth), newlyweds, seniors aged 65 or older and their dependents, people with disabilities, and rural exchange students.
Owners of vacant houses who wish to apply for the project must visit the county office’s civil affairs department and submit an application by the 14th.
County Governor Choi Hunsik said, “We expect the Hope House Vacant House Regeneration Project to provide new homes for the housing-vulnerable, greatly contributing to housing stability,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to realize residential welfare in the county.”
Meanwhile, over the past five years, the county has selected a total of 16 houses and provided free rental to housing-vulnerable groups and returning or new rural residents.
