The Cultural Heritage Administration's Palace and Royal Tombs Headquarters and the National Heritage Promotion Agency announced on the 5th that they have appointed Go Seon-ung, Song Jae-seong, and Lee Jeong-eun as the main program directors for this spring's 'Palace Culture Festival.'
The Palace Culture Festival is a cultural event held every spring and autumn at major palaces in Seoul (Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung) and Jongmyo Shrine. This spring's event will take place from April 26 to May 4.
Director Go Seon-ung, former artistic director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Theater Company and general director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics, is currently serving as the head of the Seoul Theater Company. He will be responsible for the opening ceremony held on April 25 at Heungnyemun Gate Plaza in Gyeongbokgung Palace. Under the theme of 'Flower,' the ceremony will vividly portray overcoming adversity and achieving a peaceful and prosperous era through diverse performances.
Director Song Jae-seong, participating again this year, will direct 'Time Travel, Sejong,' held throughout Gyeongbokgung Palace from April 26 to 30. Set in the 15th century, the event allows visitors to experience palace daily life and learn about King Sejong's major achievements.
