Daejeon Companion Animal Park to Introduce 'Pet Pass' Entry System Starting in March
Streamlined Entry Procedures with Electronic System
Enhanced Safety and Efficiency Expected
Daejeon City announced that starting in March, the entry system for the Daejeon Companion Animal Park, located in Geumgo-dong, Yuseong-gu, will be switched to the 'Pet Pass' access system.
'Pet Pass' is a QR code entry management system based on the pet's registration number, allowing entry only for companion animals over two months old that are registered with either an internal or external Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID).
Daejeon City previously conducted a three-month pilot operation of the 'Pet Pass' system from December last year to February this year. The results showed that entry procedures became faster and more streamlined. In a satisfaction survey conducted among visitors, the majority reported experiencing greater convenience.
The Daejeon Companion Animal Park covers a site area of 32,166 square meters with a building area of 2,408 square meters, and is equipped with an indoor cultural center, outdoor playground, sports facilities, and more.
The operating hours for the pet playground within the park are from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM during the summer season (April to September), and from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM during the winter season (October to March). Admission is free, and the park is closed every Monday.
Park Youngcheol, Director of Greenery and Agricultural Life at Daejeon City, stated, "With the introduction of the 'Pet Pass,' we expect park use to become even more convenient, allowing pets and their guardians to spend time in a safer and more pleasant environment."
