The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 27th the finalization of the "6th Basic Plan for District Energy Supply (Basic Plan for District Energy)."
The Ministry established the 6th Basic Plan through policy research projects, expert task forces, consultations with related ministries and affiliated organizations, and public hearings. The final plan was confirmed by reflecting opinions presented during the public hearings and consultations with related ministries.
The 6th Basic Plan aims for "qualitative growth by transitioning to clean heat sources" and includes detailed policy tasks such as ▲promoting the utilization of unused heat ▲establishing a roadmap for clean heat sources ▲introducing the Renewable Heat Certification (RHC) system ▲advancing the national heat map ▲and setting guidelines for heat trading.

Through the implementation of the 6th Basic Plan, the Ministry plans to supply district heating to a total of 4.46 million households by 2028, expand district energy projects in industrial complexes to 54 sites, achieve energy savings of 45 million TOE, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 92 million tons.
