The presiding judge responsible for the trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol's December 3 emergency martial law incident and charges of leading a rebellion has been retained.
According to the legal community on the 20th, the Seoul Central District Court announced the judicial assignment to keep Chief Judge Ji Gwi-yeon of Criminal Division 25 in charge without changes. However, the two associate judges will be replaced.
In addition to President Yoon's case, Criminal Division 25 is also handling rebellion charges against former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun, Police Commissioner Cho Ji-ho, and former Seoul Police Commissioner Kim Bong-sik.

Meanwhile, Criminal Division 33, which was handling cases related to Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, including the Daejang-dong, Baekhyeon-dong, Wirye New Town development corruption, and Seongnam FC incidents, will see a change from Chief Judge Kim Dong-hyun to Chief Judge Lee Jin-gwan. The associate judges will also be replaced.
