Porsche Korea Launches Pure Electric SUV Macan Electric
Porsche Korea announced on the 20th that it will officially launch the pure electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) Macan Electric in the domestic market.
The models introduced domestically are ▲Macan ▲Macan 4 ▲Macan 4S ▲Macan Turbo, totaling four types.
The Macan Electric is the second pure electric vehicle equipped with an electric powertrain following the pure electric sports car Taycan. Since its debut in 2014, it has gained popularity in the compact SUV segment. The Macan, as a pure electric model, is evaluated to have typical Porsche sports car handling, long driving range, and excellent everyday usability.
The Macan Electric offers top-level E-performance. When launch control is activated, the Macan produces 360 horsepower (265 kW), the Macan 4 produces 408 horsepower (300 kW), the Macan 4S produces 516 horsepower (380 kW), and the Macan Turbo produces 639 horsepower (470 kW) of overboost output.
The maximum torque is 57.4 kg·m for the Macan, 66.3 kg·m for the Macan 4, 83.6 kg·m for the Macan 4S, and 115.2 kg·m for the Macan Turbo. The driving ranges are 474 km, 454 km, 450 km, and 429 km respectively.
The electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery mounted under the body with a total capacity of 100 kWh, of which up to 95 kWh can be actively used. The high-voltage battery is a core technology of Porsche’s newly developed premium platform Electric (PPE), based on an 800V architecture.
Thanks to the PPE’s 800V architecture, the DC fast charging output is up to 270 kW. The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes.
The Macan Electric is a performance SUV with ample interior space and practicality. With the application of the electrified platform, the trunk capacity behind the second-row seats has been expanded up to 540 liters, and the seat positions of the driver and front passenger have been lowered by up to 28 mm, providing a sporty feel.
The Macan Electric is equipped with the latest display system and operation configuration, featuring up to three screens including an independent 12.6-inch display, a curved instrument cluster, and a 10.9-inch center display. For the first time, an optional 10.9-inch screen dedicated to the front passenger allows the co-passenger to view various information, operate the infotainment system, or watch video streaming content. The Macan also includes a head-up display with augmented reality technology applied for the first time.
