I AM Supplies FCCL Samples to Chinese FPCB Company... "Visible Achievements in New Material Field"
KOSDAQ-listed company IM is achieving tangible results in the advanced electric and electronic, and secondary battery materials sectors, which are its new growth engines.
IM announced on the 10th that following the initial supply of composite copper foil to secondary battery materials company Huachung last month, it has supplied samples of its independently developed ultra-thin flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) material for displays, the high-end flexible copper-clad laminate (FCCL), to a Chinese customer. The Chinese company F, which received the samples, is a specialist in the FPCB field and is actively promoting the development and expansion of production of advanced high-spec products.
FCCL is a core material of FPCB applied in electronic devices such as smartphones. With the increasing integration and miniaturization of smart devices, the demand for high-spec FCCL products is also growing. IM is expanding production and supply of high-end FCCL by utilizing its proprietary deposition and material processing technologies.
Recently, the on-device implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) functions has become a new opportunity factor in the high-end FCCL market. The application of AI functions in smart devices leads to an increase in the number of high-spec semiconductors installed, which in turn increases the need for ultra-thin high-end FCCL that can save space.
A company representative said, "Following the initial supply of composite copper foil film last month, achievements in the advanced new materials sector are further expanding. Taking this FCCL sample supply as an opportunity, we will actively strengthen competitiveness in high-end FCCL, whose importance is growing with AI on-device progress, and expand our sales network."
