Shin Wonsik, Director of National Security Office, Holds First Call with Michael Waltz, US National Security Advisor
Exchange of Views on Meeting in Washington in the Near Future
The Presidential Office announced on the 6th that National Security Office Director Shin Won-sik held his first phone call since taking office with Michael Waltz, U.S. National Security Advisor, on the night of the 5th, exchanging views on Korea-U.S. relations, North Korea issues, and regional and global cooperation including Korea-U.S.-Japan collaboration.
Director Shin congratulated Advisor Waltz on his appointment and expressed confidence that the Korea-U.S. alliance could be further strengthened under the Trump administration.
In response, Advisor Waltz expressed agreement and said he looks forward to expanding cooperation between Korea and the U.S. in various fields.
