Ohouse and POSTECH Achieve First Success
in Industry-Academia Collaboration
Bucketplace, the operator of 'Ohouse,' announced on the 22nd that its paper presented at 'BMVC 2024,' hosted by the British Machine Vision Association (BMVA), won the 'Best Poster Award.'
BMVC is held annually at the end of the year in the UK and is regarded as the most prestigious conference in the field of computer vision. Among excellent papers published in related academic research fields such as Machine Vision, image processing, and pattern recognition, six outstanding works are selected through review. The Best Poster Award is given to papers that rank in the top 1% in terms of overall research excellence.

The awarded paper is a joint research effort between Ohouse and the POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) research team through industry-academia collaboration. It focuses on technology that derives 3D object shape from a single image. A key feature is the ability to reconstruct even the unseen back side of an object from just one image. For example, from an image of a chair showing only the front, it renders the side and rear views to produce the complete appearance of the chair. Unlike existing technologies, it enables 3D modeling that restores shape and texture without altering the image composition, receiving great acclaim.
