Acting Commissioner General Responds to Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun's Call for Investigation: "Will Review the Facts"
Acting Commissioner of the National Police Agency Lee Ho-young stated on the 20th that he would "review the facts" in response to Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun of the People Power Party's criticism that Yoon motivated the protesters and should be investigated.
Acting Commissioner Lee made these remarks during the plenary session of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee in response to a question from Yong Hye-in, a lawmaker from the Basic Income Party.
Regarding the phone call between Rep. Yoon and the Gangnam Police Station chief, Acting Commissioner Lee explained, "A call came from an unknown number around 10:51 p.m., claiming to be Rep. Yoon, asking to take good care of those detained at the Western District Court," and added, "The Gangnam Police Station chief responded that he would follow procedures and take appropriate measures. There was no mention of leniency."
