The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency (Commissioner Lee Myungjun) will strengthen its marine pollution accident prevention activities and response readiness until today, the 24th, in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the West Sea Coast Guard Agency on the 20th, prevention activities will be conducted at marine facilities that store large amounts of oil (64 locations with over 300kl), long-term moored vessels (65 ships), and ships conducting bunkering operations at anchorage points, all of which are vulnerable to marine pollution accidents.

Furthermore, considering that this holiday period lasts for six days, the agency plans to solidify an emergency support system with marine pollution cooperation organizations and groups such as local governments and the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation to minimize damage in the event of an accident.
A representative of the West Sea Coast Guard Agency stated, "The top priority is to prevent marine pollution accidents in advance, and in the event of an accident, we will minimize public damage through swift response and containment."
