Dong-gu, Daejeon to Expand Eco-friendly Tourism Infrastructure at Daecheongho Lake
Construction of Chudong Nuri-gil and Sinchon Nuri-gil Pedestrian Paths
Daejeon Dong-gu announced on the 20th that it will promote the expansion of eco-friendly tourism infrastructure around Daecheongho Lake by carrying out the Chudong Nuri-gil Trail construction, Sinchon Nuri-gil pedestrian path project, and the repair of the deck trail in the Chudong Wetland Protected Area.
The Chudong Nuri-gil Trail construction project involves creating an ecological exploration path by installing decks and coconut mats along the waterfront from Masan Sohanteo to Garaeul. Once the project is completed, it will connect with the Obaekri-gil Trail, forming a walking path from Daecheongho Natural Waterfront Park through the Chudong Nuri-gil Trail to the Meditation Garden.
The Sinchon Nuri-gil pedestrian path project will connect Sinchon Hanteo and Bangchuk Hanteo by installing a waterfront deck in sections where the walking path has been cut off due to frequent flooding caused by rising water levels in Daecheongho Lake.
The Chudong Wetland Protected Area deck trail repair project will completely remove and newly install the existing deck facilities around the Chudong Wetland Protected Area, which is famous for its silver grass and reeds, as the deck trail built in 2012 has become outdated. This aims to prevent safety accidents for visitors.
Park Heejo, head of Dong-gu District, said, "Through these projects, we expect that residents and tourists will be able to enjoy the beautiful Daecheongho Lake in a more pleasant and convenient way."
