Standard Energy, SoluM, and Merkava Partners Sign MOU for Next-Generation BMS Development

View original imageStandard Energy (CEO Kim Bu-gi), the world’s first developer of vanadium ion batteries (VIB), announced on the 20th that it has signed a business agreement with SoluM (CEO Jeon Seong-ho) and Makaba Partners (CEO Jo Jun-hwi) to develop and commercialize next-generation battery management systems (BMS).
On the 16th, Standard Energy signed the "Business Agreement for the Development and Global Commercialization of Wireless BMS for VIB ESS" with SoluM and Makaba Partners at SoluM’s headquarters in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the agreement, Standard Energy and SoluM will collaborate to develop next-generation wireless BMS technology by combining Standard Energy’s VIB energy storage system (ESS) and BMS technology with SoluM’s wireless communication technology. Makaba Partners will support the two companies’ global expansion and commercialization efforts, as well as handle the procurement of key raw materials necessary for manufacturing.

Standard Energy explained, "The low-power wireless BMS to be developed through this agreement will integrate SoluM’s wireless communication technology with Standard Energy’s BMS technology to reliably control hundreds of battery cells." They added, "Applying the low-power wireless BMS will not only drastically simplify ESS system assembly but also enable wireless battery control, which is expected to offer advantages in maintenance and other areas."
