[Click eStock] "SmartRadar Benefits from Trump Administration's Autonomous Driving Regulation Easing"
ResearchAlum analyzed on the 20th that Smart Radar System would benefit if President-elect Donald Trump eases autonomous driving regulations after taking office.
Choi Seonghwan, a researcher at ResearchAlum, said, "We expect the second Trump administration to relax regulations related to autonomous vehicles," adding, "Currently, the U.S. transportation authorities limit automakers to deploying 2,500 fully autonomous pilot vehicles per year, but this regulation is expected to be lifted under the second Trump administration."
He continued, "The U.S. Department of Commerce announced the final regulation draft on the 14th of last month, which gradually bans the sale of connected cars using Chinese or Russian software or components for autonomous driving or communication functions."
Furthermore, he emphasized, "It also prohibits Chinese automakers from testing autonomous vehicles in the U.S.," and added, "As Chinese cars and trucks are expected to be pushed out of the U.S. market, we anticipate a ripple benefit for autonomous driving-related companies outside of China."
Researcher Choi analyzed, "Smart Radar System has secured competitiveness in the autonomous driving technology market by developing the vehicle-mounted 4D imaging radar (RETINA-4F)," and "It has overcome the limitations of existing radars that cannot recognize height information." He further explained, "RETINA-4F can detect three-dimensional information," and "It provides stable performance under various weather conditions, accurately recognizing in adverse weather such as rain, snow, and fog."
