Ministry of Strategy and Finance: "No Contact with Park"
Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Strategy and Finance, stated on the 16th that he did not seek advice from Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, regarding the appointment of Constitutional Court justices.
The Ministry of Strategy and Finance issued a message to the press corps on the same day, responding to Park's claim on KBS1 Radio's "Jeonggyeok Sisa" that he advised Acting President Choi to appoint three Constitutional Court justices, but Choi only appointed two. The ministry said, "This is not true," and refuted by stating, "Acting President Choi has never had contact with Park."

The ministry added, "Acting President Choi made his decision after listening to suggestions from various elders and expert groups regarding the appointment of Constitutional Court justices," but emphasized, "Park Ji-won was not among those from whom Acting President Choi sought advice."
