The certification plaque ceremony, held on the 13th, was attended by Bright Eye 21 Hospital’s Director Kim Deokbae, Directors Jeong Muo and Park Beomchan, as well as Choi Junho, President of Alcon Korea, and other representatives from both organizations.
Since 2013, Bright Eye 21 Hospital has performed over 5,000 vitrectomy procedures with Alcon’s Constellation, playing a significant role in improving patients’ eye health.
This remarkable achievement was made possible thanks to the hospital’s expertise in the retinal field, as well as its extensive clinical experience and know-how.
Alcon’s Constellation is a vitrectomy surgical device that effectively treats retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment. It features rapid cutting speed, maintains stable intraocular pressure during surgery, and allows for quick recovery due to minimally invasive incisions. In addition, it enables simultaneous cataract and retinal surgery, minimizing complications and providing safer procedures.
Director Kim Deokbae stated, “Achieving 5,000 Constellation procedures was possible thanks to the trust and support of our local community,” and added, “We will continue to research and strive to deliver improved care and the best surgical outcomes for our patients.”
