The People Power Party's South Chungcheong Provincial Nomination Management Committee announced on the 16th that it had finalized the candidates for the primary during its second meeting.
Yoo Gijun, former Chairman of the Asan City Council, and Lee Gyosik, former Grade 1 Director of the National Intelligence Service, were cut off from the nomination process.
The People Power Party plans to select its candidate by reflecting the opinions of 50% of the general public and 50% of party members.
The candidate policy debate is scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. on the 21st at the Onyang First Hotel.
This by-election is being held because Park Kyungkwi, the former Asan mayor from the People Power Party, lost his position after being sentenced to a fine of 15 million won for violating the Public Official Election Act.
