Wando County to Provide 2 Million Won in "Youth Marriage Congratulations Subsidy"

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that it will implement the '2025 Youth Couple Marriage Congratulations Grant Support Project' to alleviate the financial burden on young newlyweds.
The '2025 Youth Couple Marriage Congratulations Grant Support Project' is a policy designed to support young couples facing financial difficulties in the early stages of marriage. It aims to encourage population inflow and settlement in the region.
Through this project, Wando-gun will provide a congratulatory grant of 2 million KRW per couple to young couples experiencing financial hardship in the early stages of marriage. This year, a total of 70 couples will be supported, and the project will end once the budget is exhausted. Applications can be made between 6 and 12 months after the date of marriage registration. Eligible applicants must visit the local eup or myeon office with the required documents according to their resident registration address. Eligibility is limited to young couples under the age of 49 at the time of marriage registration, including both first-time and remarried couples. However, from the date of marriage registration to the present, both spouses must have resided in Jeollanam-do for at least six months, and one spouse (the applicant) must reside in Wando-gun from the application date until the grant is paid. The applicant's spouse may change their address within the province, but if either spouse moves to another province or city, they will be excluded from receiving the grant.
Last year, the county provided a total of 154 million KRW in marriage congratulatory grants to 77 couples. In addition, through the newlywed couple housing loan interest support project, 14 million KRW was provided to 7 couples, helping young people settle down stably.
