Dongducheon-si Conducts Special Crackdown on Environmental Pollution Prevention During Lunar New Year Holiday
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyeong-deok) announced on the 8th that it will conduct special crackdowns from January 20 to February 5 to eradicate illegal activities such as unauthorized discharge during the vulnerable period before and after the Lunar New Year holiday when management and supervision are lax.
Before the Lunar New Year holiday, the city will encourage voluntary inspections by businesses, conduct preliminary inspections of wastewater discharge sites, and operate an environmental pollution reporting situation room during the holiday period while strengthening patrols of rivers suspected of pollution.
Additionally, a situation room will be operated during the Lunar New Year holiday to establish a rapid response system that can immediately respond on-site in case of accidents, and a 24-hour environmental pollution reporting consultation window will be available for immediate reporting of environmental pollution acts.
