Cheonan City Discusses Smart City Collaboration with Google Cloud
Mayor Park Sangdon: "Expecting Demonstration of Accumulated Technology in Cheonan"
Cheonan City in Chungnam Province announced on the 8th that it had discussed ways to establish a cooperative relationship with Google Cloud Korea to vitalize the smart city artificial intelligence (AI) industrial ecosystem.
Mayor Park Sangdon and Google Cloud Korea CEO Ji Kisung discussed AI technology validation, support for local companies to enter the global market, and the operation of corporate AI education programs at a small conference room in the city hall the previous day.
Mayor Park said, "I hope Google Cloud's cutting-edge technology will help us build a smart city," and added, "I hope the technology that has been accumulated so far will be demonstrated in our city."
In response, CEO Ji said, "We will review ways to implement smart city projects step by step, starting with areas such as administrative services and policy initiatives that can be integrated so that citizens can experience a smart city," and added, "It is important to realize even small aspects first, starting with what can be achieved."
Meanwhile, the city is building cooperative relationships with IT companies to create a smart city. On December 30 last year, it signed a business agreement with Amazon, and on the 13th, it plans to meet with Nvidia for further discussions.
