At the meeting, Mayor Jung listened to Samsung Electronics' plan to concentrate the 'Global Infrastructure Headquarters' at the Pyeongtaek Campus and urged the company to make swift and unwavering investments.
The Global Infrastructure Headquarters is an organization that establishes semiconductor lines to safely and stably supply essential materials (such as ultrapure water and gases), energy management, and power supply necessary for optimal semiconductor production.
Both sides agreed to hold regular meetings on current issues. Through this, the city plans to discuss and resolve corporate concerns and difficulties.
Mayor Jung expressed his expectation that "if the Global Infrastructure Headquarters, which is core to semiconductor production, is concentrated in Pyeongtaek, the semiconductor ecosystem of Pyeongtaek City will be further strengthened," and added, "The city will spare no administrative support to help Samsung Electronics leap forward as a top-tier company."
