On the 2nd, Choi Woncheol, Mayor of Gongju, Chungnam, stated, "This year, I will fully achieve the municipal goals with the spirit of 'Sudo Geoseong,' which means accomplishing our purpose by joining forces with the citizens." He added, "I will always stand with the citizens and do my utmost to ensure that their hopes are reflected in city administration."
At the New Year's kick-off ceremony held in the Daebaekje Hall at City Hall, Mayor Choi said, "Based on the values of innovation, growth, and coexistence, we will focus our efforts and make choices that enhance citizens' sense of satisfaction, aiming for meaningful achievements. I will make this year one in which safety, integrity, and citizens' happiness are all elevated to a new level."
He also mentioned key initiatives of the 8th popularly elected administration, saying, "We will strive to bring new changes and hope to citizens by establishing a safe urban foundation, revitalizing the local economy through fostering strategic industries, building a sustainable, people-centered city focused on education and welfare, and creating a city that offers culture, art, and a dignified life."
Mayor Choi emphasized, "In this Eulsanyeon, the Year of the Blue Snake, I will do my best, together with all public officials, to steadfastly pursue this year’s key tasks and create a new and hopeful Gongju where all citizens can be happy."
