Streaming Platform SOOP to Rename Cable Channel as 'SOOP'
The live streaming platform SOOP announced on the 2nd that it will change the name of its cable TV channel to 'SOOP,' the same as its corporate name.
Along with the channel name, the logo will also be changed to match SOOP. Following the corporate name change in March, SOOP replaced AfreecaTV as the domestic live streaming platform after 18 years on October 18.
The SOOP cable channel is available on KT channel 129, SK Broadband 234, LGU+ 120, D'Live 160, and LG HelloVision 194.
Through the cable channel, SOOP plans to deliver the UMB (World Chrome Federation) billiards tournament, which received positive responses this year, next year. Additionally, the 7-a-side international soccer tournament 'Kings World Cup 2025' will be broadcast live in Korean on both the SOOP live streaming platform and the SOOP cable channel. A total of 16 countries, including the United States, Spain, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, will participate in this tournament. The Korean team will feature famous streamers such as Park Ji-sung, Lee Kang-in, Gamst, and ShootForLove.
